Project 52 - Week 42:  Telling Stories

Once upon a time, there was an elderly couple who lived near a very large park that held a lovely creek.  In the Spring, the creek was surrounded by wild flowers.  In the Winter, ice crystals would form along its shore and snow would top the rocks that ran across its bed.  But in the Fall, the trees would turn the goldest of gold.  Some said that the Fall was the best time of year to sit by the creek, watching each golden leaf fall into the water and then drift downstream to an orange sunset.

The couple had a small dog.  The dog loved the couple very much. He loved them because they took him for walks along the creek.  They would lavish him with tiny treats and good-boy pats, and pick the best of vantage points for him to watch the park world spin on its axis.  "Good boy!" they would exclaim as he sat for a treat.  "You are a very good boy."

I only have one image this week.  I watched the story unfold as I attended an event in a local park.  I knew immediately it had to be my image and story for this week's assignment.

"The best storytellers supply just enough detail to allow your imagination to fill in the gaps," according to David Duchemin.  There are many other stories this image could  tell.  What story is it telling you?  Hopefully I've sparked your imagination.  Go out and look for stories.

To see more stories, take a trip through the blog circle this week, starting with Darlene Dykas Woodward of Pant the Town Pet Photography, serving Massachusetts and New Hampshire.  Feel free to embellish all of our stories and add your own slant.  Join us next week when we take a break from our regularly-scheduled program and celebrate a bit of Halloween fun with the theme of Spooky!  As always, thanks for stopping by!
